The Challenge
Haringey Council needed to tackle dangerous objects being thrown from high-rise residential buildings, alongside ongoing fly-tipping incidents costing the council tens of thousands of pounds each year.
Identifying exactly where incidents originated from within a high-rise environment required a specialist surveillance solution beyond conventional CCTV.
Our Solution
Following a detailed site survey, Spectrum developed a bespoke high-rise surveillance solution using specialist camera technology and video analytics.
Rather than replacing existing infrastructure, the system was integrated with one of the council’s rapid-deployment cameras, existing radio network and Video Management System.
Specialist analytics automatically detect relevant activity and alert managers, providing usable video evidence to support investigation and enforcement.
The Results
The complete system was installed and commissioned in under three hours.
Haringey Council can now more effectively identify individuals responsible for dangerous or illegal behaviour, improve safety around its high-rise properties and provide enforcement teams with actionable evidence.
